Urwerk 103.08 TIALN Complete Details:
An iconic & bold futuristic design.
The steel Case of this watch has been treated with TiAlN - Titanium Aluminum Nitride, giving it a reddish/purplish hue. The coating is the hardest known in the watch world. A TiAlN coating less than 4 microns thick has the effect of multiplying the resistance of the underlying metal to scratches, shocks, oxidation and even acids. To put things in perspective the TiAlN coating brings the case hardness to 3500 Vickers (Steel is 600 Vickers & Gold 380 Vickers).
This watch features:
Innovative satellite shaped rotating dishes which indicates the current hour. There are 4 dishes with 3 hour markings each. As the current dish hour inidicator passes the minute markers in an arc, a new dish with the next hour moves in to indicate the new hour. The dishes themselves rotate to indicate a new hour display while hidden at the top of the case.
Luminous minute & hour indicators.
The high-tech grade 5 titanium case back is finished with a black PVD coating & features:
A 15 minute & small seconds sub-dial, this allows to set the watch to an exact time, this function is named the "Chrono Meter".
Power Reserve Indicator.
A Fine-Tuning screw which allows the watch accuracy to be corrected to +/- 30 seconds per day.
