Tang Buckle

Tang buckles are designed as classic belt buckles with a metal loop and pin. The tail end of the strap has holes in small increments, the strap is then threaded through the buckle and the pin is pushed through the corresponding hole for a good fit.

While many brands are gravitating towards deployant buckles, most still offer regular tang buckles on some watches as:

  1. Tang buckles have a thin profile, matching better to thinner design watches.
  2. Tang buckles are more cost effective especially with watches of precious metal.
For demonstration purposes only, following are a few sample diagrams of different styles of tang buckles. As each brand has its own design, the diagrams below do not necessarily reflect the exact buckle design on the selected watch.
Other Buckles: Push-Button Clasp, Deployant Buckle, Hidden Fold-over clasp, Double-Locking Foldover Clasp
